As the Bulgarian National Coordinator of the Initiative, the Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov noted the importance of the household and the opportunities it creates for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. “I hope that the project proposals from Bulgaria will be innovative. The idea is to add a fourth panel “Innovation” to the standard axes – transport, energy and digital connectivity. I believe that this will be a new direction, “he added. Minister Petkov commented that the focus of this event will be on innovation, digital technologies and start-up’s, and efforts should be focused on enabling small and medium-sized companies to meet potential customers or suppliers in order to have real deals for Bulgarian companies.

The Three Seas Initiative was born as a tool for achieving more effective regional cooperation, higher economic growth and real social and economic cohesion between Eastern and Western Europe. We are working together to make our region much more attractive for investment and for young people, and that is why we need concrete, practical action.
“Providing a platform for business cooperation within the” Three Seas “is a key tool of the Initiative, which will stimulate digitalization, the search for smart and modern solutions in the industry, as well as to attract new large-scale investments,” said the President. Rumen Radev, who this year hosts the summit.
“The Baltic, Adriatic and Black Sea region has huge potential, great people and business leaders with vision and knowledge. These are among the most important factors for sustainable growth and development. This region needs fresh capital to feed cross-border innovative projects of common interest and benefit. That is why the American Chambers of the Three Seas region must partner with governments, investment funds and entrepreneurs to unlock this potential for a better common future. It is an honor for the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria to work with so many stakeholders and institutions in the preparation of the Three Seas Business Forum. Our common goal is for it to be a successful step in the development of the Three Seas Initiative, said Olivier Market, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria.
The goals of the Business Forum are:
• to promote the Initiative as a tool for attracting new investments to Central and Eastern Europe, to finance trans-regional and cross-border projects of strategic importance in the field of energy security and diversification, transport and digital connectivity.
• to stimulate industrial cooperation and the establishment of direct contacts between the business circles of the countries in the region in the field of innovation, new technologies and scientific and applied research in order to create conditions for full realization of more qualified and educated young people in the Central and Eastern region. Europe.
• to help create an attractive investment and business climate, based on the principles of the free market, transparency and competitiveness, with a view to attracting fresh strategic investment and private capital to the region. The business forum will provide excellent opportunities for participants to get acquainted with the latest market trends in specialized panels (energy, transport, innovation and digitalization), as well as to learn more about the functioning of the Investment Fund of the Three Seas Initiative and the requirements for fund projects. The online platform of the initiative also provides opportunities for online direct contacts and online business meetings between all registered participants.

The initiative was established in 2016 at the meeting of the presidents of the participating countries in Dubrovnik, Croatia. After President Rumen Radev hosted the Estonian counterpart Kersti Kalulaid in October 2020 in Tallinn to host the Three Seas regional cooperation initiative, our country took over the process of coordinating the initiative, which unites 12 European countries located between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Sea. The hosting of the Republic of Bulgaria of the Three Seas Initiative in 2021 is a logical continuation of our country’s participation in this regional format.
CPG Consulting Bulgaria will be participating inside the initiative and will try to inform all its partners and clients for the future opportunities brought by the forum! Follow us on!!!
